Original Red River Oxcart Trail

USA / Minnesota / Henderson /

The Red River trails were a network of Oxcart trails in the 1820's-1870's used as primary routes for settlers and for the fur trade.

Part of the original trail is still visible running through the Ney Nature Preserve, and used as a hiking trail.

On the west side of the road across from the original Ney Homestead, the partial remains of an original stage stop building still exist.
