Gothic church supported by buttresses, built late 14th century or early 15th century. Some sources indicate that originally belonged to the Order of Poor Clares (Franciscan nuns), but there is the alternative the church was built by the Dominican nuns.
The fact is that after the establishment of the Reformation, the church was abandoned and used for a period as a granary.
On February 12, 1716, General Steinville donates the church to the Franciscan monks who renovate it.
The interior of the church is completely modified, the edifice getting the aspect of a late Baroque monument. The nave is barrel vaulted on arch bands and has triangular penetrations.
On the north wall is an epitaph of Hugo von Virmond dated 1722.
Inside the church can also been seen a cenotaph dedicated to the baroness Arianna Andlern (1700) and a Gothic sculpture (15-th century) in polychrome wood, entitled "Madonna and infant".
Inside the church (the crypt) are various stone graves not open for the public.
The old monastery, in square plan and closed precincts, is nearby the church.
Scenes of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) were filmed inside and near the church.
