New York Laboratory School (New York City, New York)

4-story school building completed in 1966. Designed by Sherwood, MIlls & Smith for the New York Board of Education. The building houses the New York Lab School for Collaborative Studies (grades 6-12); NYC Museum School (6-9); and the O. Henry School (6-8), for a total of 1600 students.

The ground floor (and 1-story wings on either side) are faced in stone, with the three upper floors clad in orange brick. The metal window frames are painted green. At the ground-floor center of both the 17th & 18th Street facades, a large opening leads into a central courtyard and entrances. The building was renovated in 2011.
