Established in 1952 as station C-30/CFS Resolution Island, this facility was a long-range radar site manned by the 920th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron of the US Air Force. Operational through 1962 as a USAF facility, the station was idled by 1961 and returned to the ownership of the Royal Canadian Air Force and subsequently inactivated.

Reactivated in 1991 as part of the North Warning System, the facility was designated as BAF-5 and now functions as an autonomous Short Range Radar site equipped with AN/FPS-124 radar systems. The site itself still contains much of the radar site infrastructure of its Pintree line operations though all of the older radar systems are no longer operational.
