This area contains few agro farm lands, is purely residential area. Presence of a Univesity (Madurai Kamaraj Univesity), Soil is Red soil and you can see the nagamalai hills running to the north so the foundation can be very strong when building hoouse. This area is selected for launch of a unit of tidal park by government of Tamilnadu.
The cost of this area has rose from Rs.28/sq.ft to Rs. 263/sq.ft. This area does not have a lodging facility but have few research centers, small industries and few general stores and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian hotels. It also has browsing center, DTP centers, STD booths, many tea shops, few temples, a railway track crossing this area. It is located in National highway and bus facility is good to this place till late night 10:30 pm from periyar bus terminus at madurai.
