haunted place, interesting place

According to local legend, a mass voluntary drowning took place here in the late 1700s- early 1800s. The story goes that a slave ship from Africa arrived here to unload its cargo. The slaves, known as the Ebo (or Ibo), at their chiefs command, hurled themselves into the water, chains and all, instead of being sent into a life of slavery. Site allegedly haunted.
