The Gate Tower

The gate tower annexed to the old City Hall, present day Altemberger House History Museum was erected in the first half of the 14th century and it is one of the best preserved towers from the third defense precinct. It is also the only gate tower preserved, the rest being demolished in the 19th century.
A drawing dating from the 17th century shows the tower without a roof, with a platform with ramparts.
