The main peasants market in Sibiu. To be reconstructed, with a large parking lot above ground level, due to the groundwater level and the underground remnants of the old bastion.
On the site of the current market existed Sag Gate Bastion (Turnului in Romanian), built in 1577 and demolished in 1852. The gate tower, which was situated at Turnului and Croitorilor streets intersection, was built mid-15th c. and demolished in 1858.
