The Habermann Brewery was founded in 1857 by Johann Habermann as the "Hermannstadter Brauhaus Gesellschaft", taking over the City Brewery (located on the site of the current Hotel Ramada), in 1863 it changed its name to "Brauhaus Inhaber Johann Habermann". During this period, the factory was built on the current site. The factory closes in the second decade of the 20th century, in its place will open the "Thomas Binder and Sons" Brewery.
After lying abandoned for several decades, it was demolished in 2004
Between late 2016 and summer 2017, the area was transformed by the municipality into a multipurpose market.
