store / shop, place with historical importance
Former site of West View Park, an amusement park that opened in 1906 and closed after the 1977 season. In its place are this shopping center (with a sign resembling one of the park's roller coasters) and the businesses to the east along West View Park Drive.
Among the park's attractions were two coasters (The Dips and The Racing Whippet) and "Danceland", an entertainment hall that featured many popular performers including the Rolling Stones in 1964. Danceland burned down in 1973 and was never rebuilt. More information can be found on Wikipedia and in the Rick Sebak documentary "Stuff That's Gone."
