Kim Jong Suk Nursery, Moranbong-guyŏk(-district), P'yŏngyang, DPRK: The school was opened in 1988, named after DPRK President Kim il Sung's wife, and General Kim Jong il's mother, Kim Jong Suk, and a revered figure in the DPRK. This is an elite school for pre-primary school for the leadership elite class. Children begin their education around the age of three. They live on the campus (their parents visit them on weekends) until the age of six when they move onto elementary education. A nursery education is not a part of the DPRK's Eleven(11) Year Compulsory Education Plan. Children are enrolled around the age of three months and attend the school until they are four when they matriculate to a kindergarten.
