Originally built as the short-lived Hanna-Barbera Land, this waterpark opened in 1984 as Splashtown USA. The park has changed hands several times in its 30+ year existence, and was even briefly named Six Flags SplashTown until it was sold in 2007 (where it reverted to SplashTown Waterpark). The Wet'n'Wild SplashTown name was bestowed upon the park for the 2014 season onward when the parent company acquired rights to the name, and after Six Flags re-acquired the park in the late 2010s it gained its current name. Despite the mild winters in Houston, where the temperatures can reach the early 80s even in November, the park is only open seasonally.
