Skanda Giri \ Kalavaarahalli betta. This famous hill is located in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka. Beautiful views from the summit with refreshments available. Overlooks Nandi Hills.

Route: Bangalore - Hebbal Flyover - Devanahalli - Chikkaballapur - Skandagiri. Take a left turn inside the city, follow the narrow road to reach Papagni Matt which is at the foot of Skandagiri.

  • The hill is situated 9Km away from chikballapur town. via mylanahalli and kalavar villages.You can get the route Guides as well at Papagni mutt( situated at foot of the hill). where u can park ur vehicals safely. carry lots food and water as there is no sufficient facilty for them around. climbing the Hill :the ascent is characterised by lots rocks and thorny bushes. need to climb rocks as well enroute. need to have food stuff/water on the way. it will take 3 to 4 hrs average to reach the summit. its like a table top on the top of the mountain. u can find a temple monumnet as well. it will be too stormy and dusty some times as wind blows at high sppeds. during rainy and winter season weather will be exterme, either rains heavily or chilling.u can see some awasome scenary around. Avoid climbing during night its not safe . one might encounter animals or thugs as it is no mans land during weekdays.
