"In 1957, the U.S. Government acquired 0.87 fee acre from Floyd R. Bonniefield. The site was used by the U.S. Air Force as an off base installation to McClellan Air Force Base, California. A medium power low frequency homer beacon was used to serve as a navigational aid site for McClellan AFB. The site was declared in excess in 1965 and was reported by the DoD to not be contaminated by live bombs, artillery, projectiles, chemical warfare or radioactive materials."
