Built in 1866 and painted red, this flour mill was the center of activity in the Red Jacket Valley, which was named after this mill. The original owner, Park Worden, gave it the name "Red Jacket Mill. The mill was destroyed by fire and never rebuilt, causing the local red jacket economy to migrate to Mankato.
