El Castillo (Spanish for "The Castle") at Chichen Itza is a Mayan step pyramid that served as a temple to the god Kukulcan (Quetzalcoatl). Today it is one of the most famous Pre-Columbian structures in the Americas.

    91 steps on each of the four stairs. Add the platform on top that they all share and you have 365. Amazing what knowledge they had. And if you think this is impressive: go there for equinoxe and watch the "shadow snakes" descend the pyramid.
