This is a private island owned by the Koottunkal family. It measures roughly 10 acres or 4.55 hectares.

Situated at the mouth of the Perandoor canal, it is about 50 meters at its nearest point to the Perandoor Railway bridge, which is about 3.75 kilometers by road from Kaloor Junction. It is about one kilometer by rail from the Vaduthala level crossing and about 2.8 kilometer from the Edappally level crossing.
