Residence built c. 1916 in the Georgian Revival style for Julian Percy Fairchild, Sr {financier}. In addition to being a founder and treasurer of Downtown Brooklyn Association, Fairchild served as a president of Kings County Trust Co. He also served as a president of the Trust Company Association of New York State.

It was subsequently owned by William Rogers Coe, {capitalist, financier}. Coe served as chairman of the executive committee of Virginian Railroad Co. and director of Long Island Lighting Co., Brooklyn Union Gas Co., First National City Bank, and East River Savings Bank. His father, William Robertson Coe, resided at "Planting Fields" in Upper Brookville.

The estate was later owned by Donald Sigmund Stralem.
