One of Kerala's busiest streets in ancient times. "Anchal Kutty" means "Mail Box" in Malayalam, the local language. This was actual Kavumbhagom before the new road came in 1980's.The Kaavil street(road from Erankavu temple to Kaavil temple) is quoted in many ancient books like 'Unnuneeli sandesham' as one of famous markets in kerala. It was the first settlement area of tiruvalla christians. In the junction itself is located Kizhakkedathu house'whose men were given the name'PANICKER' in honor. Now the panicker is Fr.Oommen.K Abraham. Kizhakkedathu panicker had to give his permission to any funtion, like marriage or parties as the local leader of the community. If he cannot attend he used tro send his 'Official stick' on behalf of him. The panicker gave leadership to build paliakkara church; the mother church of all christians in tiruvalla. He pledged to amke it and leaded the rally from kaavil market to the church. This incident is quoted in the church's history published in 1915.
It is compulsory for every important religious rallies;whether christian or hindu; to pass through kaavil street. This practice is not broken till now, showing its significance in tiruvalla's history.
