  Choonad is a small market place in Ilippakulam. The area of Ilippakkulam that covers the following boundaries North: NambukuLangara, North West: Kattachira, South: Manakkadu chantha, South West: Vattakkadu. West: Kappil east, Esat: Vallikunnam Puncha, Padayanivettom etc. Choonadu is actually formed from a house name of 'Choonattu Veedu' just besides the existing Choonadu Chantha(Market).Ilippakulam is an important place in Onattukara along with Bharanikkavu, and Vallikunnam.
