MNDD080, DD080 - sree vaathsalya devi sametha sree Vallabha Tempole, thiruvallavaazh or tiruvallaa is 80th dhivya dhesam., DD80 dedicated to Hindu God Lord Vishnu is located 2 Kms from Thiruvalla Town, Kerala. The unique Feature of this temple is that Kathakali dance is Performed as a ritual Offering. The main festival is Uthraseeveli(in 'Meenam' (March - April). This temple is one of the major temples of Kerala and a fine sampling of its long-established style of temple architecture. The temple has many shrines though it is mainly dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The 50- feet high "kodimaram" is of stonework. An icon of garuda, vehicle of Lord Vishnu, is fixed atop the flag post.A exclusive attraction of this temple is the Kathakali performance staged every evening, as ritual offering. It is supposed that Vishnu, the principal deity, watches the performance from his abode. Ladies are allowed entry to the sanctum sanctorum only on two days; 'Vishu' and 'Thiruvathira'.

Known to have established at least 4000 years ago when the Westward "Sudarshana" was installed. 2000 years later, the idol of Lord Mahavishnu was installed. The idol was obtained from Bhadrakkayam in Netravati River. The old idol which it replaced was moved to Malayinkeezhu. Traditonally ruled by 10 brahmin houses known as "Pathillam", many of which still exist. Was considered to be very rich at a time. The wealth has been reportedly moved by a Minister of the then King.
