Commonly Known as Trikkaviyoor Mahadevar Temple. One of the oldest temples in Kerala. Main Deity is Lord Mahadeva with Goddess Parvati on the left hand side. The Siva idol was believed to be consecreted by Lord SreeRama in tretayuga. The Temple is more than one thousand years old. There are two inscriptions on the basement of the sanctum which belongs to A.D.951& 952. This Temple is well known as a Hanuman Temple. The shrine of Lord Hanuman is located on the north western corner of the inner prakara( Nalambalam). Hundreds of people from all over the state visit this temple everyday.
This temple is also famous for its marvelous wood carvings. Hundreds of wooden figures decorates the wall of the Sreekoil( sanctum sanctorum) and the roof of mandapa, valiambalam and balikkalpura. The archetectural style here is one of the best in Kerala style.
The main festival is in December- January every year.
