Opened in October 1971 as a location of the Royal Inn chain, this went into Jack Wrather's hands in 1976 (who owned the nearby Disneyland Hotel and had sued to stop construction of the hotel) and renamed as The Inn at the Park. In 1982, Wrather sold the hotel to Hilton (becoming Hilton at the Park). By the time Starwood bought it in 2005, it had changed hands a few times and was then called Coast Anaheim Hotel.
