The Disneyland Resort is a major recreational resort owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. The resort is home to two theme parks, three hotels, and a shopping and entertainment area.

Disneyland Park, the original Disney theme park. Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955.
Disney California Adventure, a theme park that celebrates the history and culture of the golden state, opened during a large resort expansion 2001. In the early 2010s, it received an extensive remodel.
Disneyland Hotel, the original Disney hotel, was built in October 1955 by Jack Wrather in an agreement with Walt Disney, and was officially acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 1988. It has since been renovated multiple times.
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, a hotel based on the arts and crafts movement of the early 1900's, opened with Disney California Adventure in 2001.
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, a hotel themed after the section of Disney California adventure it overlooks, was built in 1984 by an outside company, and was acquired by Disney in 1995.
Downtown Disney, an outdoor shopping and entertainment district, was built in 2001.
The Disneyland Resort also includes multiple surface parking lots for guests and cast members (Disney employees), including a large 7-story parking structure with over 10,000 spaces.
