  • hi freinds this is my birth place and i studied in SVEM school for 10 years...it has got rich history.It has got famous fort and centuries old temple called "Gavisiddeshwar math".We can see many scripts written by King Ashoka. Temperature here is hot specially in summers raising upto 39'C.It recieves decent rains from july to mid october....Once in jan we celebrate jathra of Gavimath in which lakhs of devotees take part.Special items to taste are mirchi and girmith... Surely i miss my town......now 'm working in Bhubaneshwar. "KOPPAL" far from bhubaneshwar but not from my heart.............. :-(

And famous Temples are called Sri Gavisiddeshwara math, Malemallappa, etc. other most visiting places spread over the koppal.
