Not-for-profit rescue for abused and displaced big (and small) cats. Big Cat Rescue was founded as a for profit breeding and exhibition operation, but converted to a non-profit rescue in the 1990s.

The owner, animal rights activist Carole Baskin, is currently engaged in a feud with Joe Exotic, founder of Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, in Oklahoma. This feud was profiled in the 2020 Netflix documentary, "Tiger King".

  • Very interactive and informative tours available. You can even help the volunteers feed the animals. Their stories are so sad, but the mission of this facility is to give the cats something they haven't had - love and care. I highly recommend visiting!!!!
  • Wild big cats don't need "love". They need humane care, and a diet and environment that's most identical to what they'd get in the wild. Part of the reason they have so many rescues is because people say "AWW LOOK AT THE CUTE KITTY" and want to give these animals "love".
