Ghost-town on the banks of Lake Kerr in Marion County, FL. Was the second town in the county, platted in 1884. The citizens deserted the area after winter freezes devastated the orange crops in 1894-95. The homes, post office, gas station, stage-coach stop, etc were all acquired by the son of the town's founder, and are maintained today as vacation rentals. Some of the structures are on the National Register of Historic Places.
