automotive parts dealer, do not draw title
Two story, 41,815 sq. ft. auto parts warehouse constructed in 1928. During the 1930s it was home of the George Holzbaugh Ford dealership which was the largest Ford dealership in terms of sales during that period. Employees at the Ford Rouge plant were encouraged to buy their cars from Holzbaugh as Ford's regional sales manager wanted the world's largest dealership to be located in his territory. In 1940, Holzbaugh declared bankruptcy after being found liable for failure to pay taxes. By 1941 the dealership had passed to Germer-Kerrison Inc.
A bowling alley was located on the second floor. In the 1950s and 60s it hosted many professional bowling events.
