"Plazh Shkorpilovtsi" (Shkorpilovtsi Beach) is a protected zone under the Habitat Directive with Decision No.802 from 04.12.2007, published in issue 107/2007 of the State Gazette.

The Shkorpilovtsi beach is located about 45 km south of Varna.
The beach is one of the longest and most spacious on the entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast - over 12 km long and up to 100 m wide, surrounded by forest. The beach is covered with fine, clean and golden sand, without mussel shells or pebbles. The sea water is clean, blue and warm, without bottom pits, vortices or underwater currents, and the bottom has a smooth slope. The area is suitable for lovers of kite, surfing and windsurfing.
