"Milton, Kentucky has the distinction of being one of the oldest towns in the Commonwealth. It was established by the law of Virginia in 1789, three years before Kentucky became a state. The settlement has almost always been small with todays population at about 650 people. The town is located in Trimble County where the county seat is Bedford. Today, Milton is a sleepy little place that at one time boasted of several distilleries and breweries. The town, as the county, is now "dry"."
