One of only two Indiana communities listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The first settlers moved to the area now known as Pendleton in 1818.

Pendleton is a town in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana, United States. It is part of the Anderson, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,253 at the 2010 census.

Notable for being the town where Jim Davis, of Garfield fame, got his start drawing cartoons for the local paper.
