Historic commemorative Statue of Liberty replica listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Built: 1951
Material: copper (brick base)
Total height: 13 feet
Foundry: Friedley Voshardt Company (Chicago, IL)
Areas of significance: Social History
Date added to NRHP: 7/31/2012 (relisting)
Notes: This small-scale replica of the Statue of Liberty was commissioned by the Boy Scouts of America as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, as a reminder to the public about the work the BSA does in educating boys about United States heritage and history. The statue was moved (along with the hospital) in 2009 and consequently de-listed from the NRHP, but relatively quickly gained back its listing. There is an exact copy of this monument, also placed by the BSA, located in Pine Bluff. The Friedley Voshardt Company, which manufactured the statue, became experts in producing these replicas, and ultimately made about 200 of them, of which less than half survive, many of them in the Midwest.
