A strong fortification wall surrounds the citadel. There are also additional intermediate fortified enclosures to better organize and protect the citadel. Archaeological evidence (coins, shells, jewelry, metal objects, tools, stone tools, weapons, statuettes, bone tools, glass vases) confirm the usage from prehistory to the Byzantine period incl. The construction of the fortress dates back to the late Roman period.
