The 9,500 sq. ft., late 19th century, second empire, two story residential home, was built for the early German-Jewish merchant and activist Emmanuel Schloss, and his wife Rebecca. The second empire design was completed in 1872 and was registered as a State of Michigan historical landmark on August 18, 1988. The 234 Winder Street Inn bed and breakfast has been completely restored and features 6 guest suites.
