Comfort Inn Midtown West

USA / New Jersey / West New York / West 48th Street, 548

96-foot, 9-story modernist hotel completed in 2012. Designed by Michael Kang, it is clad in reddish-brown brick, and is set far back from the street. A winding ramp on the left side and a staircase on the right (both with white metal handrails) lead up to the main entrance near the west end of the ground floor, with glass-and-metal double-doors. At the far west end is a window and a beige metal service door atop a narrower set of stairs. Above the main entrance is a glass canopy supported by black metal posts. To the left is a very wide tripartite window bay, and a narrow single-window at the east end.

The upper floors have five bays of double-windows with black metal air-conditioning vents below them. The 2nd & 3rd bays from the east are recessed, with black steel beams crossing in front of the base of each floor. The rear, south facade also has five bays of double-windows, but none are recessed. The east and west elevations have no openings.

The hotel contains 89 guest rooms.
