office building, event management company, commercial building, postmodern (architecture)
2-story office building completed in 1938. Originally designed by William Shary, the facade was remodeled in 1969. It is faced in pale salmon-colored stucco and beige stucco, above a pink granite water table. There are projecting beige end piers at both ends, with entrances placed next to the each. The main entrance is at the west end, with white metal-and-glass double-doors, and the east side has a grey metal service door. Above both entries are horizontal beige lintels topped by triangular pediments, the west one with a circle cutout in the middle, and the east one with a square cutout. Rising from the outer half of each of these (and running up along the inside edge of the end piers) are beige sections that angle to the outside near the top of the facade, above where the end piers also end in diagonals. At the 2nd floor, small, square window openings of 3-over-3 panes are bisected by the edge of these beige sections.
The rest of the field of the facade is salmon-colored, except for four thin, vertical panels of beige stucco on either side of a 5-over-3 ground-floor window (with a beige lintel above them that has four projecting squares above each panel), and taller panels flanking the 2nd-floor window of the same size; there are only three of these vertical panels on either side at the 2nd floor. They are topped by another horizontal lintel with roundels instead of squares, and a large beige pediment rises above, extending above the roof line, which is marked by a stone coping.
The west elevation has a higher water table, and beige stucco at the front section, with pale salmon-colored paint farther back. Towards the rear there is another entrance, topped by a lintel and pediment. It has a multi-pane window to the right and two to the left, and the 2nd floor has four bays of similar windows.
