Mr. Yoo, Yoo Yeon Soo, becomes a well-studied scholar after growing up in the care of his widowed father and aunt. He marries the kind-natured female protagonist of this story, Ms. Sa Jeong-ok, but the couple’s inability to have children causes them to add Ms. Gyo Chae-ran to their family. The tricks of Ms. Gyo lead to the end of his marriage to Ms. Sa and the imprisonment of Mr. Yoo.
