Kamchia is а reserve with Government decree No. 14829 from 29.06.1951.
Area: 849.75 hectares.
Due to its important environmental and environmental importance, in 1977 it was included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves as part of UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Program to protect the planet's most representative ecosystems, but was withdrawn in 2017.
