148-foot, 13-story Art-Deco cooperative-apartment building completed in 1931. Designed by Robert T. Lyons, it is clad in variegated reddish-brown brick above a 2-story limestone base with a low, light-grey granite water table. The main entrance is in the eastern of the two center bays, both of which are flanked by 2-story geometric piers with notched ribbing at the tops. The entrance has metal-and-glass double-doors with a geometric Art-Deco pattern below a transom with the address in metal lettering, covered by a rounded, grey canvas canopy extending out over the sidewalk. To either side the base has two wide bays of many-paned windows; the bay to the immediate left of the center bays is set higher than the other wide bays. At both ends there are three bays of single-window openings, also divided into many small panes. The western end bay at the ground floor has a service entrance instead of a window. All of the windows at the base have white iron grilles, with those on the ground floor featuring decorative geometric patterns. The base is capped by a beveled band course on either side of the two center bays, which are slightly taller.
The upper floors have large, square openings in the two center bays, flanked by two wider bays (the first one on the left again set higher), another square bay, and end bays of narrow single-windows. All of the window bays have multiple small panes in an industrial style, with black metal framing. The end bays are lined with regular brick quoins, with narrower quoins immediately lining the windows and tall brick spandrels between floors. There are trios of vertical grooves on the piers between the 2nd & 3rd bays from each end, and brick quoins beginning at the 4th floor lining the central pier, with some other patterned brickwork extending into the spandrels of the bay on either side. Large, black metal air-conditioning vents are located below the windows in each bay except the end bays and the two center bays on the lower floors; others have protruding air-conditioning units.
The outer three bays on each side set back above the 10th floor, and the rest set back above the 12th. A 2-story, brick-clad mechanical penthouse rises up from the center of the roof, with two bays of windows on its south facade and two more windows on the upper part of the east and west elevations.
The building was converted to a co-op in 1988, with 100 apartments.
