Construction began on a new hospital in Huntington in 1914, funded by donations from the Prime family, known for its history of philanthropy. A 5-acre property on Park Avenue with a house and barn was purchased for the site. The new hospital building was completed in 1916 and the house became administrative offices. Huntington Hospital is now a member of Northwell Health, and is a community hospital with 371 beds.
