Sometime two years prior to an article published on July 17, 2018 by KHOU 11, a Kroger was announced, ground was broken and a parking lot was paved. Today, as it was two years ago, Kroger still plans to develop the site, but has yet to do so. This has lead to the local community refering to the site as a "ghost kroger."
