Currently has one Boiling Water Reactor. Unit 1 is operational and Unit 2 was partially built and then construction on it stopped in 1979. On September 22, 2005 it was announced that Grand Gulf had been selected as the site for an Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR). This will be installed in the Unit 2 location.
