The Pontal Wind Farm Complex, consisting of 3 legally separate wind farms labelled as Pontal 2B, 2A & 3B, is located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, near the shore of the Lagoa dos Patos about 50 km southeast of downtown Porto Alegre in the municipality of Viamão. It was completed in 2015/2016 and consists of 7 GE 1.6-100 (1600-kW) wind turbines (Pontal 2B) and 18 Alstom ECO 122 (2700-kW) turbines (2A & 3B) with a combined nominal capacity for the 25 turbines of 59.8 MW.
