Former location for a parking lot (located at the eastern half of this property) for Gibbs Country House Restaurant/Gibbs Restaurant from September 15, 1963 until December 15, 2001, that portion including the restaurant were demolished in early 2004. The current building was constructed around Spring 2004 and the bank was opened on October 11, 2004 as Northwestern Bank. It became Chemical Bank on November 1, 2014 after that Detroit-based bank purchased the Traverse City-based Northwestern Bank on October 30, 2014. This is the second location in Ludington after downtown.
