Founded on June 30, 1898 in Scottville as State Savings Bank of Scottville, it was then renamed to West Shore Bank on May 5, 1997. The bank building was constructed in 2001 and its main headquarters were relocated to this location and reopened on February 5, 2002. But 10 years before its relocation, the bank (as State Savings Bank of Scottville) acquired the Ludington branch Great Lakes Bank (based in suburban Chicago, now acquired by First Midwest Bank in 2014).

For over 100 years, we have remained committed to helping the people and businesses of the West Shore community improve their financial well-being. As a local business, we employ around 100 people at eight banking offices in Mason, Manistee, and Oceana counties. All of our employees live and work here, raise their families here, and volunteer here to help strengthen our community.

Other locations are located in Ludington East, Scottville (old main office location), Manistee South, Manistee Parkdale, Frankfort, and Hart
