5-story Medieval-revival (with Gothic elements) residential building originally completed in 1884 as a 3-story townhouse with a raised basement. Designed by Mortimer C. Merritt, it is clad in brick (painted and repainted many times) above a limestone ground floor, which was formerly the basement level. The stoop was removed and replaced by a ground-level entrance with a wood-and-glass door. There are two windows to the left, behind an iron fence and planting bed.

The upper floors have three bays of single-windows, with a large opening at the west bay on the 2nd floor, where the original parlor-floor entrance was located, flanked by stone quoins. Each opening has a drip molding, and there are continuous sill courses. Air-conditioning vents have been cut below the east bay on each floor. A new floor was added on top in the mid-1900s, clad in red brick, and capped by a stone coping.
