  • St.Peter's Church was built in the year 1829 by the boat people of Christian communiity belonged to Gurukula Vamsha Varunakula Mudaliars who were migrated from Chepauk to this place in the year 1799 in conquence of shifting of Customs House and Master Attendant Ofice to Black Town by the East India company's government.
