Beatitudes Social Welfare Centre (since 1965 - www.dbbeatitudes.org)is an organ of the Don Bosco Group of Institutions which has a hundred year history and has won accolades amongst the public for its educational and moral standards besides reaching out to the lowest strata of the society by catering to Orphans, Semi Orphans, lepers, beggars, Destitute and the aged besides caring for their children. Besides these we have the unique distinction of having close ties with various Government Agencies for a wide-variety of Women Empowerment Projects, Self-Help Groups, Women's Training Centres, Elementary, High, Transit & Night Schools, Camillus & Memisa Dispensaries, Destitute Aged Homes, Leprosy Rehabilitation Centre, Home for Special Children, Crechès, etc., Any given day over 2,500 beneficiaries visit our campus and our institution has just celebrated 40 years of its service to the poorest of the North Chennai. We are proud also to be utilized by the almighty to touch the lives of over 46,000 directly in the passing year alone through our services. In recognition of our services we have also been bestowed the 1995 National Award of India for the Welfare of the Handicapped and the 1998 Tamil Nadu State Award for the Welfare of the disabled.   • Don Bosco - Beatitudes Social Welfare Centre is an institution with over a 40 year track record for serving the poorest of the citizens of North Chennai through its Old Age home (87 inmates) Refuge Centre for Leprosy Patients with 135 inmates, Orphanage housing about 200 children (ages 5-19), Schools for poor children (2100 children), Women Self Help Group training centre, Industrial training Institute for poor boys and girls –which has won accolades amongst the public for its educational and moral standards.
