Completed in 2008, the University of Victoria's $66.6-million science building has been named for Bob Wright, founder of the Oak Bay Marine Group, who gave $10 million toward completion of the facility and another $1 million for scholarships.
The new structure is the largest on campus and it accommodates the following:
- the School of Earth & Ocean Sciences
- the Department of Chemistry
- the Canadian Centre for Climate Modelling & Analysis
- the Department of Astronomy
- lecture halls, offices, labs & meeting rooms
