5-story Renaissance-revival residential building completed in 1893, along with three other adjoining rowhouses. Designed by George F. Pelham, each shares common architectural forms, but are varied in appearance. This facade is clad in beige-painted brownstone. The original stoop on the left has been replaced by a ground-level entrance. It has a wood-framed glass door in a simple molding. To the right the number 55 is carved, and then there is a double-window with iron grille.

The 2nd floor has two window bays - the eastern one has 4-over-5 panes, while the slightly narrower western one has 3-over-5. A simple stone molding surrounds both bays. The 3rd floor has a projecting window bay with rounded ends, springing from a rounded base. It has three windows, the end ones angled, and matches the shape of the projecting bay at the neighboring townhouse to the east, though without the ornamentation.

The top two floors have two bays of single-windows framed by rough-faced quoins. There are paired string courses between these two floors, with paneled spandrels at the window bays. The facade is crowned by a black metal roof cornice with modillions, dentils, and a frieze with swags.
